Cookie Policy
Codevra does not use advertising or tracking cookies. This page lists everything the site stores in your browser, why it is needed and how to remove it.
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This cookie policy explains how Codevra ("Codevra", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, when you visit our website. It should be read together with our privacy policy.
What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store. They are sent back to the website with each request, and are often used to keep you logged in, remember settings or follow your activity across sites.
Local storage is a similar feature built into every modern browser. It lets a website save small pieces of information on your device. Unlike cookies, information in local storage is not sent to the website's servers with each request. It stays on your device until you or the website removes it.
Our approach
We keep things simple and private:
- Codevra does not set any cookies of its own.
- We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, social media trackers or third-party analytics.
- We don't track you across other websites.
- We use local storage only to remember choices you make and work you save, so the site works the way you expect.
Because everything we store is strictly necessary for features you choose to use, and none of it is used for tracking, we don't show a cookie banner.
What we store in your browser
| Name | Type | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
cs-theme | Local storage | Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode | Until you clear it |
cs-editor-theme | Local storage | Remembers the colour theme you picked for the code editor | Until you clear it |
cs-playground | Local storage | Saves the HTML, CSS and JavaScript you write in the code playground so it is still there next time | Until you clear it |
cs-preview-store | Local storage | Holds data that your own example code saves while it runs in a lesson preview | Until you clear it |
None of these items contain your name, email address or any information that identifies you, and none of them are sent to us.
Cookies set by other services
Hosting. Our hosting provider, Netlify, delivers pages and may use strictly necessary technical measures to keep the site secure and fast. It does not set advertising or tracking cookies on our behalf.
Examples that load outside content. A small number of lesson and playground examples load sample images or test data from public services to show how real web pages work. If you run such an example, that service may set or read its own cookies under its own policy. You can edit the example before you run it to remove the request.
External links. Websites we link to, such as official documentation, have their own cookie policies, which apply once you visit them.
How to control and delete stored data
You are always in control of what your browser keeps:
- Clear site data. In most browsers, open the site settings for Codevra (usually through the padlock icon in the address bar) and choose to clear its data. This removes your theme choices and any code saved in the playground.
- Clear all browsing data. Your browser's privacy settings let you delete cookies and site data for every website at once.
- Block storage. You can set your browser to block cookies and site data. Codevra will still work, but it won't remember your theme or save playground code between visits.
- Private browsing. In a private or incognito window, anything Codevra stores is removed automatically when you close the window.
Before clearing data, copy any playground code you want to keep, because it can't be recovered once deleted.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change what we store, for example by adding a new feature, we will update the table above and the date at the top of this page. If we ever wanted to use cookies that are not strictly necessary, we would ask for your consent first.
